James "Bush" Hodge

James “Bush” Hodge passed from this life on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023 at the age of 56. He was born November 21,1966 in DeQueen, AR to parents, Gary Hodge and Wilma (Cooper) Hodge. He is here with us in spirit today.

Bush was known for his humor and the many friendships he shared. If Bush wasn't at the ballfield cheering on the Panthers, he could be found playing horseshoes, fishing, and enjoying taking it slow. Bush never skipped a beat to tell a joke or make a friend, and he never hesitated to help anyone in need. Though many of Bush's hobbies brought him joy, his one true delight was being a grandpa. He never missed an opportunity to call his grandbabies up and share his love and warmth. Bush lives on in every single friendship and memory we made with him. He would want us to rejoice that he is no longer faced with Earthly challenges, take comfort that he is with his Heavenly family, and he is peacefully at rest. 

He is now reunited with his wife, BJ.; parents, Wilma and Gary Hodge; grandpa and grandma Hodge, grandpa and grandma Cooper; nephew, Lucas; nieces, Teather and Lezly, and a host of family and friends that are so, so happy to see him. 

He is survived in death by his children, Vaden Miller of Gulfport MS, and Dusty Crawford of Bethel, OK; sister Judy Hensley and husband, Will;  brother Wade Hodge and wife, Darlina, all of Bethel OK; many cousins, friends, and brothers-in-bond are cherishing the life and memories shared with Bush. 

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are set for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Battiest First Assembly of God Church, Battiest, OK. Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, OK.
