James J. "Jimmy" Carter Obituary

James Joseph "Jimmy" Carter, passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 70 in Dallas, TX. Born on November 28, 1954, in Tulsa, OK, to parents, James B. Carter and Christine (Armstrong) Carter.

A proud 1972 graduate of Broken Bow High School, Jimmy's sense of duty and love for his country led him to serve in the U.S. Army. His service was a testament to his strength and character, values he carried with him long after his military tenure. Jimmy worked with Thomason Trucking for over thirty years. He was a man of many interests, but above all, he was a craftsman at heart. Hunting and fishing were among his favorite pursuits, activities that allowed him to appreciate nature's splendor and enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors. His passion for woodworking and working with his hands was evident. He was a devoted husband, father and Grumpy, whose happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James B Carter, Christine Kesterson and stepfather, Jack Kesterson, sister, Donna Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Bobbi Carter of the home; children, Brandi and Eric Jewell, Jeff and Brenda Carter all of Broken Bow; brother, John and Sarah Carter of Coleman, OK and step brother, Eddie Kesterson of Hatfield, AR; step sisters, Tracy Carter of OK and Melanie Dunn of CO; grandchildren, Laykin Carter, Layne Carter and Emma Jewell all of Broken Bow; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
