Jean McGowen Crawford Obituary

Jean McGowen Crawford passed away on February 16, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas, at the age of 93. Born on April 4, 1931, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, to Everett and Pearl Pannell, Jean's life was a rich tapestry of family, music, and the simple joys of life. Throughout her life, Jean was a writer, beautician, seamstress, crocheter, gardener, and reader. She found great pleasure in these activities, but her true passion lay in her music. Jean was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing with the Welch Mountain Boys, a Blue Grass band that brought joy to many. Alongside her sister Dutsy, Jean performed at numerous festivals as part of The Pannell Sisters duo. Her love for music was infectious, and she enjoyed sharing it with others, whether on stage or simply playing for friends and family.
Jean's love for festivals was a family affair, and she cherished the times when she could attend these events with her sisters. She loved to travel all over the U.S. especially trips to Branson with her family. Her most recent adventure took her to the Mountain View, Arkansas Blue Grass festival.
