Jeanette Simpson, age 76, passed away on February 16, 2023 in Idabel, OK.  She was born the daughter of Milton William Darity and Bertie Vandiver Darity on January 15, 1947, in DeQueen, AR.

Jeanette taught school for thirty-six years, with twenty plus years teaching in Eagletown.  She was an academic coach for three years and had several All-State Selections with her students.  Jeanette was also named Teacher of the Year for 2004-2005 at Eagletown Public Schools.  In her own time, she enjoyed sitting in her chair playing with her cats and dogs.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Sherrill Simpson; parents, Milton Darity and Bertie Darity.

She is survived by her son, Milton Simpson, and wife Kisha of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Shaylee and Kenzi of Idabel, OK; and a cousin, Jeanette considered like a sister, Carol Graham.

Funeral service will be Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Eagletown Cemetery.
