Jerry Dwain Gray, age 86, lifelong resident of Broken Bow, passed from this life on Thursday, October 8, 2021, in Idabel, Oklahoma. The son of Fred and Cleo (Finney) Gray, Jerry was born on December 23, 1934 in California.
Jerry graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1952. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou (Tucker) Gray, on December 19, 1952. He and his wife loved to travel. Together they explored all the continental United States and Hawaii. He loved the beach and the sun. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all sports, especially OU and Dallas Cowboy football. He was very active in civic organizations throughout his life and held office in the US JC Senate. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his son, James “Rusty” Gray. Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his children, Jan Hutchison and husband Jack, Geri Dee Blake and husband Bryan, and Danny Gray and companion Charla Thompson; brother, Kenny Gray and wife Faye; grandchildren, Tyler Martin and wife, Emma, Cassandra Van Horn, Nisa Birge, and Susan Billy; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Crown Hill Cemetery pavilion in Broken Bow with Bro. Jimmy Jeter officiating. Pallbearers will be Jack Hutchison, Bryan Blake, Danny Gray, Jayden Barrick, and Cheyenne Terry. Arrangements are under the direction of Bunch Singleton Funeral Home.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
