Jerry Holen, born on March 3, 1937, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family and friends.
Jerry was known for his friendly nature and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in wood crafting, gardening, hunting, and fishing, and he appreciated the peace and satisfaction that came from working with his hands and spending time outdoors. He also loved to travel from coast to coast, and those journeys gave him the opportunity to see the country he loved while making memories with the people who mattered most to him. Above all, Jerry treasured his family and friends across the United States, and he remained deeply connected to them throughout his life.
In his working years, Jerry served as Superintendent for United Railroad Materials, where he was respected for his leadership, dependability, and strong work ethic.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mable Holen; his loving wife, Bonnie; his brothers, Jim and wife, Ardith Holen; and his sister, Muriel Johnson and her husband Vince.
Jerry is survived by his children, Brian and Kathy Holen of Valliant, Oklahoma, Bradley Holen of Broken Bow, and Brenda and Mike Bray of Broken Bow. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nikki Fuller and Joe Smith, Miranda and Larry Adams, Jennifer Bray and Brandon Dumont; his great-grandchildren, Jaci and Braeden Barker, Jake Fuller, Cooper Adams, Journee Adams, and Jayden Emery; and special friends, Marc and Sarah Patrick and family, Don and Brenda Moore, and Theron and Holly Tollison; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever hold his memory dear.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
