Jerry Dale Laxton

Jerry Dale Laxton passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Born on August 17, 1947, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to the late James Dale and Lois Marie Laxton.

Dale was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes. His presence brought light, laughter and strength into the lives of those around him. His memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends forever. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.”

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, James Dale and Lois Marie (McKee) Laxton; sisters, Gloria "Jeannie" Bray and Joani Marie Williams.

He is survived by his children, James Laxton, Carlos Laxton, Brandon Laxton and   Stephanie Avila, Michelle, along with her husband Corey Gatewood; grandchildren, James Laxton Jr., Jacqueline Laxton, Georgia Laxton, Landry Laxton, Harrison Foster, Carter Foster, Colin Foster, Austin Gatewood and Lilah Gatewood; one great-grandchild, Harper Foster; sister, Debbie Cooke and husband Duane, along with a host of other family and friends.

Graveside Services are set for 2:00 PM, Saturday March 28, 2026, Broken Bow Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Philip Snow officiating.
