Jerry L Lacy Obituary

Jerry Lacy, age 77, passed away peacefully of natural causes on the 4th day of May, surrounded by those who loved him most.

A lifelong member of the construction industry, Jerry spent his career building not just residential complexes, but a reputation for hard work, reliability, and pride in a job well done. He believed in honest labor and never shied away from a long day’s work.

Outside of work, Jerry found his greatest joy outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he cherished time spent in the woods and on the water, where he felt most at peace. He also enjoyed family vacations at the beach and tailgating at college football games. These moments were often shared with friends and family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Above all, Jerry was devoted to his family and friends. He was known for his loyalty, his steady presence, and his willingness to help others without hesitation. His life was marked by simple pleasures, strong relationships, and values that never wavered.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Cheryl Lacy; son & daughter-in-law, Michael & Tracey Lacy; daughter, Monica Bolin; daughter & son-in-law, Kimberly and Justin Thomas; daughter-in-law Mickey Lacy; grandchildren Paige Lacy, Meredith Lacy, Merrick Lacy, Samantha Lacy, Mallory Lacy, Connor Lacy, Payton Bolin and Alex Mathews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lillian Lacy; son, Jonathan Lacy; siblings, Herman, Mary, June, Jessie, Wynona, Wanda Sue, James and Baby Lacy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Jerry will have a graveside service in Battiest Cemetery at 2 P.M., on Sunday, May 10, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by spending time outdoors or sharing a story with someone you love.

Jerry, loving husband, father and grandfather, will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
