Jesse Walter Cuzick, “Bub”, 81, of Broken Bow, entered his heavenly home on May 26, 2020, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana, TX.  

Jesse was born on October 27, 1938, in Lincoln, Arkansas to Ralph and Ella (Wilhite) Cuzick.  Jess married the love of his life, Laverne Deramus on May 2, 1970, in Broken Bow; they shared 50 beautiful years together.  After moving from California to Broken Bow, Jesse began working for Pine Telephone Company as a telephone repairman.  He worked for Pine Telephone for 30 years.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ella Cuzick; in-laws, Frank and Anna Deramus; sister, Izetta “Bobbie” Deramus; brothers, Omer Dean Cuzick and Billy Cuzick, all of Broken Bow; brothers-in-law Don Deramus and Wayne Hobson of Broken Bow, Claude Gilbert of Idabel, Aimel Austin of Boswell, OK, and nephews Andy O’Rear, Jr. of Tulsa, Ok; and Tony Hobson of Broken Bow, OK.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Laverne Cuzick, of the home; Diane Elizabeth Bunn and husband, Cliff Bunn; grandson, Christian “Possum” Grinolds, of the home; daughter, JoAnn René Genera-Mootz, and husband Frederick of Maryland; grandsons, Jason Polzin of Seattle, Washington; Nicholas Polzin of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Jesse W. Genera, of California.  He is also survived by a large extended family, including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Jesse loved making woodcrafts in his workshop, and loved yard work, and viewing God’s beauty.  He enjoyed sitting on the back porch with his neighbor friend, Berlin Heck, and with his dogs, Sophie and Emma.  His family and friends remember him as a sweet, kind, and gentle husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He encouraged everyone and blessed all who come in contact with him whether it was in person or while conversing with his Facebook friends.

He was a witty individual who loved to make people laugh.  He loved the Lord and was passionate about reading his Bible every single morning.  Jesse was a member of the Broken Bow Church of Christ and Good News Fellowship Church.

A funeral service will be held at Good News Fellowship Church in Broken Bow, OK on Friday, May 29th at 11:00 AM with Dr. Doug Deramus officiating, with interment at Hochatown Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jesse’s life.
