Longtime area resident, Jessie “Jess” Buchanan, 73, passed away on December 23, 2020 at his home.
He was born on April 13, 1947 in Eagletown, Oklahoma to Everett and Beulah (Rodgers) Buchanan.
Jess attended Broken Bow Public Schools. Jess was best known for his ability to eliminate the hardest of stumps and his portable sawmill. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Jess loved his children and grandchildren and the time he got to share with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leonard Buchanan; brother-in-law, Tommy Bruner; special brother, Lewis Whitten; sisters, Mary “Tommy” Rich, Wanda “Tootsie” Worthy, Dora Perkins; several nieces and nephews.
Jess leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Myra, of the home; LaDonna Freeman and her husband, Rodney, of Carney, OK, LaRessa McCarson and her husband, Greg Sr, of Idabel; Kristian Buchanan of DeQueen, AR, Allie Walker of Houston, TX; one brother, Jerrod Buchanan; Margret Burns, Aline Willis, Joy Buchanan, Neva Bruner; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
It was Jess’s choice to be cremated and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
