John Bruton,76, passed away on April 5, 2025, in his hometown of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Born on June 1, 1948, in the same close-knit community, the son of Fred and Margaret Bruton.

John and Trina Lambeth were married on August 22, 1966 and shared fifty-five years together before her passing in 2021.

 A proud 1966 graduate of Broken Bow High School, John furthered his education by earning a BA in business from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1970. His education paved the way for a life of entrepreneurship and service. John began his career by contributing to the family business at Bruton's Grocery Store, a local staple where he worked from 1970 until 1988. In the same spirit of independence and hard work, he later owned and operated his poultry farm from 1988 until his retirement in 2014.

John enjoyed water skiing at the beautiful Broken Bow Lake. But more than anything, he loved his family deeply. He provided well for his family, always ensuring they had everything they needed. His love was especially evident in the time he spent with his grandchildren and his great-grandson, instilling in them the values of hard work, and the importance of family.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Trina Bruton; parents, Fred and Margaret Bruton; brother, Will Ed Bruton. 

John leaves to cherish his memory, son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jenny Bruton of Charlotte, NC, his son, Chad Bruton of Broken Bow, OK; granddaughter, Sydney Bruton, his grandson, Jeff Bruton and wife, Kristen, and his great-grandson, Theodore Bruton; brother and sister-in-law, James and Carol Bruton of Broken Bow; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a multitude of friends.

Graveside Services are set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow, OK with Pastor Jimmy Jeter officiating.
