John “Big John” Landers, Jr., 43, of the Harris Community, entered his heavenly home on April 2, 2020.
The son of John Dell, Sr. and Linda (Cleamons) Landers, John was born on February 16, 1977 in Idabel, Ok. He attended Broken Bow Public Schools and graduated class of 1995. After graduation, John attended OSU Okmulgee where he obtained a degree in Industrial Maintenance. He enjoyed welding and began his career doing so after graduating from OSU Okmulgee in 1997. John owned and operated his own welding contracting company, Landers Welding.
“Big John”, which he was lovingly referred as, loved life and never met a stranger. He had an infectious smile and a laugh which rang out in a crowd! John and Terry were united in marriage on February 10, 2006 and shared fourteen years together. He enjoyed riding horses, listening to different genres of music, fishing for catfish, and dancing.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Dell, Sr.; infant brother, Jeremy Landers; sister, Christen Landers; grandparents, Mitchell and Mattie (Robinson) Landers, Hershell and Corine (Halls) Cleamons; great-grandparents, Cleave and Dolly Robinson, Hardy and Lilly Cleamons.
John leaves to cherish his life, his wife, Terry, of the home; mother, Linda Landers of Idabel; step-son, Joe Neel and his wife, Ashley, of Tulsa; two brothers, Jonathan Landers and his wife, Sherry, of Louisiana, Josh Landers of Idabel; two sisters, Colinda Landers-Coulter and her husband, Stephen, of Locksburg, AR, Cathleen Landers of Idabel; two grandchildren, Annabel Neel and Wyatt Neel; four nieces, Allyson Landers, Alexis Landers, Kaitlyn Burrows and Sierra Burrows; and many, many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, April 8, 2020 at Della Simpson Cemetery in Tom, OK, with Rev. Frazier officiating.
Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
