John “Pancho” O’Dell, Jr., 49, of Broken Bow, OK, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2023. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his death.
Pancho was born on April 19, 1973 in DeQueen, AR to Sue Ann O’Dell and John “Johnny” O’Dell, Sr. He was the youngest of three and the only son. He graduated from Haworth High School in 1991 and shortly after joined the U.S Navy.
Pancho is survived by his mother, Sue O’Dell of the home, sister Angela O’Dell Reinstein (Matthew) of Oklahoma City, aunts Jane Skupien (Artie), Linda Martinez, Brenda Harper, Barbara Burns, Carolyn Bates, Judy Voss, nephews Jantzen Smith, Kaden Smith, Joshua Reinstein, niece Hallea Robinson and numerous cousins and extended family.
Pancho was preceded in death by his grandparents Pete and Alpha Harper, grandparents John H. and Geneva O’Dell, father Johnny O’Dell and sister Kendra Smith.
Pancho loved the outdoors and nature. He was a skilled carpenter and avid wood craftsman. He loved to create art from any piece of wood he could find, especially driftwood. He also made beautifully crafted bows and arrows. He loved fishing, hunting and searching for arrowheads and Indian artifacts. Pancho had a big heart and easy smile. He will be sadly missed.
