Johnny D Stegall Obituary

Johnny D Stegall, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Born on April 20, 1937, in Oklahoma City, OK, Johnny's life was marked by dedication to his family, a strong work ethic, and a love for the simple pleasures in life.

Johnny spent his early years in Oklahoma before moving to California, where he worked as a barber for twelve years. His skilled hands and warm conversation made him a favorite in the community. After a fulfilling career in California, he returned to McCurtain County where he was employed by Weyerhaeuser in Wright City for ten years. His natural talent for craftsmanship led him to pursue carpentry, specializing in building cabinets and roofing. Johnny owned a Poultry Farm, where he poured his passion for hard work into the land and the care of his animals. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the thrill of gambling in Shreveport and other locations. Above all, Johnny cherished the time spent with his family.

In 1985, Johnny's life took a joyful turn when he married Betty Jacobs in Las Vegas, NV. Their union was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and shared adventures, spanning over forty incredible years. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, welcoming children and grandchildren into their home.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby Stegall; his daughter, Karie Owens; his brother, Ronald Stegall; and his wife, Brenda; his sister, Sonya Stockley and husband, John; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Daisy Jacobs, and Carl and Helen Fink; his granddaughter, Ciji.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, of the home; his children, Wesley Stegall, Tommy and Shelly Stegall, all of Talihina, OK; Kevin and Kay Wall of Garvin, and Keith Wall of Broken Bow, OK. His legacy continues through his fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Thursday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
