Julia Carter passed away March 20, 2022 in Broken Bow, OK at the age of 101.
She was born October 28, 1920 in Redland, OK to parents, William H. and Sarah Jane (Freeman) Farley, 1906 Settlers of Redland, OK.
She married Raymond Carter in Haworth, OK and they shared many wonderful years together before his passing.
Julia retired as a McCurtain County Deputy Tax Assessor in 1983. She enjoyed her retirement years tending her flowers and bird watching. She was an avid football, baseball, and basketball fan. She also enjoyed making homemade rolls for her family during the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carter; son, Randy Carter; daughter, Judy Brown; son-in-law, Ronald Brock; parents, William H. and Sarah Jane Farley; brothers, Clyde Farley and Thomas Farley; sisters, Zona Bozarth and Marie Hughes.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Martha Brock; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Barbara Carter; sister-in-law, Jane Carter; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She left us with wonderful memories with her smile and sense of humor.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Dye officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK.
