Karen Jeanette (Stewart) Matlock

Karen Jeanette (Stewart) Matlock, 72, completed her earthly journey on September 25, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born to parents, Rufus and Gladys (Singleton) Stewart on September 23, 1951 in DeQueen, AR.

Karen was a successful businesswoman and worked hard all of her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking for her family. She was the “Rock” of her entire family. She thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the hummingbirds and enjoyed traveling. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Matlock; parents, Rufus and Gladys Stewart; son, Chad Matlock; cousin, Bandy Singleton.

Karen leaves to cherish her memory, her life partner of seventeen years, Johnny Banks of the home; children, Windle Caudle, Kendra McIntyre and husband, Joe, Chasity Bonds all of Broken Bow, Joey and wife, Katie Banks of Royce City, TX, Jason Banks and Wife Farideh of Sache, TX and Callie Gibson and husband, Aaron of Broken Bow, John Banks of Tulsa; sisters, Kathy Askey of Broken Bow and Judy Jackson of Durant; grandchildren, Michael Hicks, Alexis McIntyre, Cole McIntyre, Halee McIntyre, Audda Pitchford, Michael Bonds, Cooper Banks, Johnny Banks, Jameson Banks, Cheyann, Jordin, Austin and Breannah Banks; a host of nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 Friday, September 29, 2023 at Good News Fellowship Church with Dr. Doug Deramus officiating. Interment to follow at Garvin Cemetery, Garvin, OK.
