Kevin Lee Jefferson

Kevin Lee Jefferson of Battiest, OK passed from this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the age of 46. He was born July 28, 1973 in Talihina, OK to Harold and Perlie (Baker) Jefferson.

Kevin was a very gifted Baseball player. From the time he could walk, he always had a Baseball and glove in hand. He lived and breathed Baseball, even sleeping with his Baseball equipment on his bed. He won many awards during his High School and College career. He was a Pitcher on several World Series Championships, bringing home the win. Kevin was slated to pitch at the Finals of the College Playoffs the week of.his car accident on Mother’s Day 1993, ending his Baseball dreams. His team Honored him with Jersey’s bearing his number and held an all-night candlelight vigil after the game. Kevin was in the process of being flown out to Florida with his Coach and Dad, to begin talks with signing with the Florida Marlins organization that same week.

He was preceded in passing by his mother, Perlie (Baker) Jefferson; stepmother, Nancy Jefferson; paternal grandfather, Osam Jefferson; maternal grandparents, Somis Phillip Baker, Sr. and Ida (Wesley) Baker.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his father, Harold Lee Jefferson of Battiest, OK; brother, Brian Lee Jefferson of Ft. Smith, AR; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Jefferson; a wealth of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Bethel Hill United Methodist Church, Bethel, OK with Bro. Edgel Samuels officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Hill Cemetery, Bethel, OK.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home, Broken Bow, OK.
