Lawrence Earl Jackson passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, in his hometown of Idabel, OK. Born on June 6, 1938, to Frank and Rosa Jackson.
He was a diesel mechanic for 20 years before retiring and spending more time outdoors, finding excitement in hunting foxes and coyotes, and running his beloved walker dogs. He shared countless hours riding the hills with Melba, moments that were as precious to him. Lawrence loved watching bull riding and westerns. He made his round to The Gemini every morning for coffee, where he was a familiar face and a friend to all. His presence will be missed but his routine will be remembered as a comforting constant in the community. Together with Melba, he took pride in working in the yard, creating a space of beauty.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Melba Jackson, with whom he shared countless adventures, parents, Frank and Rosa Jackson, as well as his siblings, F.E., Virgil, Jobe, Nemolee, Chester, Bill, Verde Faye, Doris, Cara, and Velma.
His legacy continues through his children, Lorie Jackson and Jamie Jackson, both of Idabel. OK; grandchildren, Jayden Jackson, Ashilyn Jackson, and Charity Markl, as well as his great-grandchildren, Raxon Carter, Rhett Carter, Aubrey Jackson, Emma, and Jaxson Markl, and his extended family of numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M., Monday, June 2, 2025, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK.
Graveside Services are set for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Glover Cemetery, Glover, OK with Pastor Lynn Tomlinson officiating. Interment at Glover Cemetery, Glover, OK.
