Louise (Wakefield) Dean Obituary

Louise Wakefield Dean passed away Sunday, November 3, 2025 at the age of 88. She was born in Broken Bow, OK on Friday, May 21, 1937.


Louise and Jack Dean were married for fifty-four years before his passing in 2010. She and Jack enjoyed traveling with her twin sister, Elouise and husband, Dean Stewart.


A dedicated member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Louise's faith was a cornerstone of her life. It guided her through her many years of service in the Superintendent's office of the Broken Bow School System, where she retired as an Office Admin Assistant. An avid O.U. football and Thunder basketball fan. She enjoyed bingo and going to the casino and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She was an enthusiast of the outdoors, finding pleasure in fishing, hunting, and going to deer camp. She loved hosting family events and cooking delicious meals for them. She was the center of everything and always made everyone feel special on holidays and birthdays. Her adventurous spirit took her traveling to Alaska, where she embraced the beauty of the wilderness.


She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dean Sr.; parents, Bill and Betty Rae Wakefield; siblings, Maureen Brown and Ros Brown, Sr., Betty Jean and Olen Hill Sr., Billy and Jackie Wakefield, James Wakefield, Jane Wakefield, Elouise and Dean Stewart, Gail and Jimmy Burke; nephews, Joe Burke, Ros Brown, Jr, Jimmy Wakefield and Bruce Wakefield; niece, Debbie Williams.


Louise is survived by her son, Kirk Dean and grandson, Kiel Dean of the home, Jack Dean Jr. and wife Becky of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Derek Dean, Sarah Waxx, Samantha and Justin Snead, Jessica and Justin Vaughn, Kelby and Haley Dean, Karlie and Allen Smith; great grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Raleigh, Charlie, Kaspyn, Delaney, Decker, Laramie, Karmen and Koulter; many nieces and nephews including, Darla and Sissy; a host of other relatives and friends.


Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home, Broken Bow, OK.


Funeral Services are set for 10:00 AM, Friday, November 7, 2025 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Broken Bow, OK with Pastor Ed Walker officiating.
