Marcella Jones of Broken Bow, OK passed from this life June 9, 2020 at the age of 63. She was born in Dumas, Texas July 2, 1956 the daughter of George and Lucille (Berryhill) Bear.
Marcella and Billy Ray Jones were united in marriage December 23, 1976 and shared forty-three years together. She was a member of Kulli-Chito United Methodist Church of Broken Bow, OK.
Marcella loved the game of basketball and the Spurs were her favorite NBA team. She shared highlights of her basketball career at Wilson High School with us all. She was her daughters and grandsons’ biggest fan whether it was a kindergarten game or college game. Marcella also liked to sew. She made thoughtful quilts for her husband, daughters, and grandsons over the past few years. She loved her grandsons greatly and she created “The Best Boys in the Whole Wide World” club because she was so proud of them. She always looked forward to spending time with Jakob, Ty, Cam and Jay…they were her good medicine and motivation. Marcella was a strong believer in God. Even when she was ill, you could find her in her pew at church and she did her best to help when she could. She was truly a woman of perseverance and faith. She was a great mom and loving wife. She was an awesome grandma and papa to her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucille Bear; brothers, John Buckner, Jr., Jay Buckner, Paul Bear and Timothy Bear; two sister, Georgette Bear, and Rachel Ramirez.
Marcella leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Billy Ray Jones of the home; daughters, Hiyadeja Moore of Broken Bow, OK, Shanna Poor Buffalo and husband, Carl of Ada, OK; brothers, Michael Bear and Anthony Bear; sisters; Janet Bear, Georgeann Delaune, Debbie Bear, Esther Bell and Janice Bear; grandchildren, Jakob Moore of Broken Bow, OK, Ty’Ray, Camby and Jaymon Poor Buffalo all of Ada, OK; special nieces, Tammy Richbourg and Kim McKinney; a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Kulli-Chito United Methodist Church (5576 Craig Rd) Broken Bow, OK with Rev. Julienne Judd and Pastor Wallace Gambler officiating. Interment will follow at Kulli-Chito Cemetery.
A Wake Service will be held from 6:30 To 7:30 p.m., Friday evening at Kulli-Chito as well.
