Mary Carol (O’Connell) Vandiver passed from this life May 19, 2022 in Idabel, OK at the age of 84. She was born December 25, 1937 in Buffalo, NY.

Mary and Gary Neal Vandiver were united in marriage on August 29, 1969 and shared forty eight years before his passing in 2017.

Mary was a retired school teacher. She enjoyed feeding and watching the wildlife, watching old western movies, playing games and cards with her family and friends. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Gary and one brother.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Geralyn Holderman and husband, Terrell Batson of Broken Bow; son, David Furnari of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law, Terry Hester and wife, Linda of Idabel; sisters-in-law, Linda Rudisill of Broken Bow, Sheree Cannon and husband, Greg of Cove, AR; grandsons, Will James of Harrah, OK and Michael James of Thackerville, OK; three great-granddaughters; a host of other family and friends.  A special thank you to her friends at Colonial Lodge that  played cards with her and all of her caregivers.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Pete Wilson. Interment to follow at Crown-Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK.

The family has requested no fresh flowers or plants please.
