OBITUARY

Mary Frances (Maynard) Horton, 81, was born on January 9, 1944, in Frogville, Oklahoma, the daughter of Wiley “Earl” Maynard and Ila “Faye” (Lightfoot) Maynard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Horton; her brother, Tommy Wayne Maynard; and her sister, Earlene Meager.

Mary married her loving husband, Bill Horton, in Hugo, Oklahoma, on November 6, 1970. Mary loved Jesus with all her heart and was passionate about showing love by serving others whenever possible. She enjoyed taking care of her son, Vaughn as well as her sisters, Hazel and Jimmie. Not only was Mary a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was also known for her smile, kind words, and possibly a mint or two to give anyone she came in contact with. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Mary is survived by her loving family; son Vaughn Horton and wife, Tonya of Fort Towson; grandchildren, Tommy Lee Payne and wife, Chantri of Harrah, Oklahoma, Tony Maynard and wife, Aubrey of Soper, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Ryker Payne, Scarlett Payne, Tristen Payne, Bryer Horton, Sadie Maynard, and Jayton Maynard; sisters, Hazel Stinnett of Fort Towson, Oklahoma and Jimmie Sue Miller of Frogville, Oklahoma; along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.  

Mary's memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. at The Church in Millerton, Oklahoma.
