Mary Kathleen Prater, age 75, passed away on October 31, 2024, in Idabel, Oklahoma. Born on November 19, 1948, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Mary was a cherished member of her community and a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.  She cherished spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Mary was known for her passion for arts and crafts, including knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She also had a keen interest in reading and playing video games, with a particular fondness for the Zelda series. Her creative spirit and warm presence brought joy to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Ross of Idabel; her brother, William Cooke and his wife, Dorinda, of Tennessee; her sisters, Sarah Bamburg and her husband, Ray, of Broken Bow, Lee Barbo and her husband, Keith, of Ohio, and Dee Brazil of Louisiana; her grandchildren, Kayla Tucker and her husband, Jake, Sabrina Melton and her partner, Cody Vickers, and Ryan Ross; her great-grandchildren, Talon Tucker and Lyric Tucker; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dona and Bill Cooke; her brother, Donnie Cooke; and her grandchildren, Auston Melton and Rowan Ross.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
