Matthew Battiest

Matthew Wayne Battiest, age 40, of Broken Bow, passed from this life on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home. He was born on January 8, 1981, in Talihina to Ivan and Loretta Battiest.

Matthew loved to play the bass guitar, piano, and he loved to sing. He enjoyed being around his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for always helping the family with what was needed. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Deidra Battiest; paternal grandparents, Johnson and Katherine Battiest; maternal grandparents, Hampton and Frances Williams; uncles, Sonny Williams, Donelle Williams, and Marcus Williams; and aunts, Viola Battiest, Lucille Sealy, and Bonnie Feathers.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memory his parents; brother, Micheal Battiest and wife Laura; sisters, Tonya Dillard, and Ivanna Battiest; nieces, Kiya Williams, Sarah Battiest, Marquisha Taylor, America Romero, Celeste Romero, Jayda Williams, Zariah Durant, and Xochitl Romero; nephews, Dakota Williams, Chico Romero, Mo Romero, Dominic Durant, Amir Gaines, and Nygen Williams; and numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2021, at Bunch Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Luther Battiest officiating. Interment will follow at Canfield Cemetery in Idabel. A wake service will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
