Matthew "Matt" Lewis Obituary

Matthew “Matt” Lewis passed from this life on April 2nd, 2023 at the age of 52 years in Oklahoma City, Ok. He was born to Esther and Randall Lewis on  June 12,1970 in Talihinia, Oklahoma. 

Matt enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, watching rodeos, he especially enjoyed the bull-riding events, drawing, painting, and making shawls. He had won an award for one of his paintings several years ago which now hangs in a Choctaw Nation building. Above all else, Matt had a generous heart and would be willing to lend a hand when he could. He enjoyed traveling and being in the company of his many family and friends. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Esther and Randall Lewis; brothers Cecil Lewis, Eugene Lewis, Marvin Lewis and Virgil Lewis; sisters Rhonda Lewis, Mona Lewis, and Rita Watson; special friends Gabe Paxton and Tamara Ligon. 

Matt leaves to cherish his memory is his son Dakota and Wife, Tabitha; three grandchildren Navarone, Obadiah, Salome ; brothers Nathan Lewis and wife Evelyn of Broken Bow, Daniel Lewis of Oklahoma City, Ronald Lewis of Broken Bow; sisters Thelma Smith and husband Kenny of Oklahoma City, Regina Flanagin of Broken Bow, and Doris Jones and husband Ken of Oklahoma City; specials friends John Ligon and Petra Vasquez, his pit-bill Remi and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family. 

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023 at McGee Chapel Church, Broken Bow, OK with Johnny Caldwell officiating. Interment to follow at McGee Chapel Cemetery.
