Melba Jackson, 82, of Idabel, OK, completed her earthly journey on August 6, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 27, 1941, in Luxora, AR, the daughter of D.W. and Pearl Self.

Melba had a great love for working in the yard and planting flowers. Riding the hills with Lawrence was something she loved to do. Playing ball with her dog “Jax”. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nonny”.  She never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, D.W. and Pearl Self; sisters, Audra Summers, Eupha Nolan and Margie Ross.

Melba leaves to cherish her memory, loving husband Lawrence Jackson of the home; children, Lorie Jackson and Jamie Jackson both of Idabel, OK; sisters, Linda Capps of Garvin, OK; Doris House of Pahrump, NV; grandchildren, Ashilyn Jackson, Jayden Jackson, Charity Markl; great-grandchildren, Raxon and Rhett Carter, Aubrey Jackson, Emma and Jaxon Markl; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services are set for 10:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2024, at Glover Cemetery in Glover, OK with Pastor Lynn Tomlinson officiating.
