Melvin Leon (Billy) Wilson, age 91, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed from this life, January 27, 2021, in Idabel, OK.

Melvin was born, April 29, 1929, to Albert Wilson and Virgie (Burris) Wilson, in Broken Bow, OK.

He and Ossie Ramsey were united in marriage, November 22, 1953, in Broken Bow, OK, they enjoyed 67 wonderful years together.

Melvin enjoyed farming, gardening, and hunting. He was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Melvin loved attending church, gospel concerts, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His favorite moments were spent on his farm and visiting with his friends around the neighborhood.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Virgie Wilson; daughter, Pamela S. Abrams; brother, Albert Wilson, Jr.; sisters, Zeola Gordon, Zelma Wilson, and Lessie Daniels; brother-in-law, Jewell Daniels; son-in-law, Dale L. Dunigan; nephew, Larry E. Wilson; niece, Lauren Wilson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ossie Wilson, of the home; sons, Melvin Wilson, Jr., and Cathy, of Laneville, TX, Darren Wilson, of Little Rock, AR, and Terry Wilson, of Broken Bow, OK; daughters, Earlene Dunigan, of Broken Bow, OK, Virgie Cooper and husband, Alonzo, of Idabel, OK, Georgie Wilson, of Broken Bow, OK, Lisa Richard and husband, Artis, of Houston, TX, and Elonda Whitmore and husband, Stephen, of Broken Bow, OK; 23 grandchildren, Cory Wilson Turner, of Oklahoma City, OK, Tony Wilson Oana, of Edmond, OK, Tiesha Wilson, of Texarkana, TX, Alonzo Cooper, Jr., of Idabel, OK, Charmaine Brown, of Little Rock, AR, Derrion Cooper, of Durant, OK, Kevis Cooper, of Idabel, OK, Brandon Cooper, of Idabel, OK, Ashlin Cooper, of Idabel, OK, Niketta Wilson, of Durant, OK, Courtney Wilson, of Durant, OK, Aleisha Whitmore, of Broken Bow, OK, Brandi Whitmore, of Little Rock, AR, Stephen Whitmore, Jr., of Broken Bow, OK, Sundai Whitmore, of Broken Bow, OK, Mario King, of Las Vegas, NV, Mychaela Abrams, of Stuart, FL, Nicole Dixon, of Ludowici, GA, Bryan Richard, of Houston, TX, Whitney Richard, of Houston, TX, Christy, Kaylone, and Cameron Ervin, all three of Whitehouse, TX; 24 great-grandchildren, Ayonna Young, Caleigh and Ryleigh Brown, all three of Little Rock, AR, Ta’kayla and Kiara Andrews, both of Idabel, OK, Jacoby and Tyra Wilson, both of Edmond, OK, Zayden Cooper, of Idabel, OK, Amira Ford, of Durant, OK, Ja’Marion Whitmore and Ariahna Picking, both of Broken Bow,OK, Kayson, Neveah, and Kadavion Willis, all three of, Whitehouse, TX, Taitianna Cooper, of Wewoka, OK, Ta’Layeh and A’Keithn Cooper, both of Durant, OK, Malachi Cooper, of Longview, TX, Jaylene, Jazmine, and Josiah Dixon, all three of Ludowici, GA, and Nariyah, Stephen III, and Imani Whitmore, all three of Broken Bow, OK; son-in-law, Jeffrey Abrams; special nieces, Eva Lee Jones, Lena Daniels, Tina Spencer, Carmacita Jones, and Charlesetta Cherry; as well as, many other extended family and friends.

A viewing for family and friends will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, February 5, 2021, at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be, 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home – Chapel, with Elder Aster Cooper II and Pastor E. B. McGraw officiating, burial will follow at the Lukfata Cemetery, in Broken Bow, OK.
