Mildred Caroline (DeYoung) Moore was absent from the body, and present with the Lord on April 21, 2023. She passed away at age 94.
Midge, as she was known, was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on April 15, 1929. She was raised in California and moved to Broken Bow, OK at age 16. Growing up in the post-depression era, and as a minister’s daughter with eight siblings, Midge knew what it meant to do with very little. Yet she considered her childhood to be a happy one. Her parents loved each other and their children. Even more, they loved their creator and Savior, Jesus Christ, and they imparted that love to their children. Midge always knew that Jesus was both Savior and Lord of her life.
Midge is survived by her son, Johnny Gilbreath (Roxanne) of Broken Bow, OK; grandson, Scott Gilbreath of New York; and two great-grandchildren, June, and James (Rooster); sister, Pauline Pike of Columbia, South Carolina; brother, Bert DeYoung of Redmond, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews. Midge is preceded in death by her mother and father, six siblings, and her first and second husbands.
*There will be a graveside service at the Hochatown Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
