Noel Douglas Sanders, 79, of McAlester, Oklahoma, passed away on December 25, 2025 at his home in McAlester.

The son of Douglas and Ethel Sanders, Noel was born on October 30, 1946, in Foreman, Arkansas. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. Noel embarked on a career as a long-distance truck driver, a job that took him across the highways of America. His work not only supported his family but also fostered a sense of independence and adventure. Those who knew Noel will remember him as a man who loved the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in playing cards, engaging in lively dominoes games, and watching sports. However, nothing compared to the joy he felt when spending time with his family. Noel was a member of the Myrtlewood Baptist Church while living in Broken Bow.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda Sanders, two sons Keith and Noah Sanders, one brother Walter Edward Sanders, and two sisters Odessa Sandy Lovell and Ethelene Maxine Maynard.

Noel is survived by his sons Kevin Sanders and his wife, Cathy, of Winthrop, AR, Kirk Sanders of McAlester, OK, Kellam Sanders and his wife, Falon, of Wright City, OK, daughter-in-law Sarah Sanders and husband John of Broken Bow, OK, grandchildren Samantha, Jake, Justin, Taylor, Zayden, Kylie, Stormy, Kaylie, Kandie, Kaylin, and Ethan, great grandchildren Anakin, and Annabeth, brothers Ralph, Bobby, and Ricky, sister Cindy, and numerous other family member and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, December 27 at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, OK.

Funeral services to honor the life of Noel will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Myrtlewood Baptist Church in Broken Bow. Burial will follow at Myrtlewood Cemetery. (Directions 3 miles West on Hwy 3 on Right, Broken Bow, OK)
