Pamela McKinney passed away on January 4, 2026, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Born on April 1, 1957, in Talihina, OK the daughter of Eddie and Nora McKinney.
Pam’s infectious smile and friendly nature were her hallmarks throughout her 68 years of life. She was a woman deeply rooted in her community, her culture, and her family, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A long-time member of the NaYimmi Baptist Church of Broken Bow, Pam’s faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her commitment to her community was evident through her work as a Nutritionist for the Broken Bow and Idabel Choctaw Community Centers. Pam was renowned for her traditional Choctaw Food, a testament to her cultural heritage and her delight in feeding family and friends. She was a vibrant part of the Choctaw Seniors volleyball team.
Pam's love for her grandchildren was paralleled only by her passion for the Dallas Cowboys. Watching her grandkids play ball was another of her greatest joys; she was their most enthusiastic supporter. She was the embodiment of a life well-lived, full of love, community service, and the simple joys of shared meals and good company. Pamela McKinney's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family and community ties. As we say goodbye, we also say thank you to a woman who gave so much of herself to others.
Pam is preceded in death by her loving parents, Eddie and Nora McKinney; sister, Carol Ishcomer; her infant sister, Lorena McKinney; her son, Jason James; her granddaughter, Kyleigh James
Her memory is cherished and will be carried on by her devoted children, Jerrod and Laura James of Ada, Janel James of Broken Bow, and Michael and Haley James of Talihina; her siblings, Gary "Pee Wee" McKinney and Teresa of Broken Bow, Jerry "Fats" McKinney of Smithville, Larry and Regina McKinney of Tacoma, WA, and Carrie and Andy Ward of Broken Bow; her grandchildren, Kyler, Jocelyn, Emery, Sarah, Abigail, Kambrie, Elizabeth, Michael II, Jonathan, and Clayton, will always remember their grandmother's love and the joy she brought into their lives.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Harris, Bro. Larry McKinney and Bro. Andy Ward officiating.
