Richard Allan “Rick” Hays entered his heavenly home Monday, June 5, 2023 at the age of 71. He was born April 12, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas.
Rick married Joyce Baggs on October 27, 1972 in Pickens, OK. They shared fifty wonderful years together.
Rick was a member of the Pickens Free Holiness Church. He was a family man and cherished time spent with his family. He could be found working on equipment and taking care of his yard. He enjoyed fishing and coon hunting in his younger years. He worked as a tool room attendant in later years. He enjoyed watching Nascar, playing scrabble and word games. Rick never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He lived out the scripture “friends who want friends must show himself friendly”. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Frances Crawford; daughter, Terra Hays Thompson; brother, Morris Hays.
Rick leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Joyce of the home; son, Brent Hays and Tinecia of Broken Bow; daughter, Christy Hays of Pickens; brothers, Joe Hays and Paula of Dell City, OK, Mike Crawford and Rhonda of Pickens and Robert Crawford of OKC, OK; sister, Madeline Glenn and Bill of OKC, OK; granddaughters, Kaitlin Thompson, Alyssa Hays and Gracie Chandler; grandsons, Colton Chandler and Raylan Hays; great-granddaughter, Rowan Buchanan; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 8th at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 9th at Battiest School Cafetorium with Bro. Hank Baggs officiating. Burial to follow at County Line Cemetery, Pickens, OK.
