Robert Battiest Obituary

Robert David "Crick" Battiest, a cherished son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this life on December 6, 2025, at the age of 59, in Eagletown, Oklahoma. Born on August 30, 1966, in DeQueen, Arkansas.


Robert's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his love for the outdoors, and the joy he found in simple pleasures. Robert was a graduate of Eagletown High School.  He was affiliated with Kulli Chito Presbyterian Church in Bethel. He enjoyed working on cars, going fishing and cherished spending time with his kids, grandkids and other family members. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.


Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elmer and Nora McKinney; paternal grandparents, George and Hester Battiest; brother, Vernie Battiest; and sister, Gina Maturino.


Robert is survived by his mother, Theresa Maturina, of the home; the mother to his children, Marie Peoples; his children, Kayla, Branam, and Gerald Peoples of McAlester, and Natasha Battiest; his grandchildren, Dustin, Brooklyn, Layla, Chloe, Kajua, Kahleeha, Henry, and Miracle; his brother, Kevin Carterby of Hugo; his nephews, Rafael and Tracker; his nieces, Isabella and Za'leia; his aunt, Sybil Trevino; his special cousin, Karen Wilson; many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
