Robert "Bob" Winship, Sr., passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on July 17, 1944, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to parents, Robert Winship and Stella Mae Dwight.
Bob married Vera Wallace on November 4, 1965 in Broken Bow, OK. A man of faith, Bob was affiliated with McGee Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow.
Bob's younger years were marked by a competitive spirit and athletic prowess. He was known for his exceptional skills as a pool player. This same spirit led him to run long distances, where he once competed against the Olympian Billy Mills, showcasing his dedication and vigor.
In his professional life, Bob devoted over 30 years to Pan Pacific as a lab technician. His work ethic and integrity made him a valued member of the team until his well-deserved retirement.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was deeply involved in his community. He served as a former board member of the Johnson O'Malley parent committee, where he contributed his insights and leadership to the betterment of the educational environment for local children. He was an avid fan who enjoyed watching football, golf, and especially the O.U. Sooners. His enthusiasm for baseball and soccer was equally strong, and he took great joy in coaching his son.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Winship and Stella Crosby; daughter, Karen (Winship) McKinney; brother, Jimmy Winship; sisters, Myra McKinney, Shirley Marcille, Norma Winship; granddaughter, Erica Martinez.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Vera Winship of the home; children, Lisa and Dwight Aaron, Vicki and Cirilo Perez, Robert and Verlinda Winship all of Broken Bow; brother, Nathaniel Winship of Carnegie, OK; sisters, Regina McKinney and Larry of Tacoma, WA, Diana Watson of Smithville and Sue Dwight of Broken Bow; sister-in-law, Lancy Wallace; grandchildren, Shaun Aaron, Whitney (Aaron) Smith, Adolfo, Cory, Alexander Martinez, Erick Perez, Sierra Wesley, Justin Winship, Ashley Winship, Karrigan (Winship) Jackson; sixteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Perry Aaron officiating.
