Robert James Gamble, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at the age of 77. He was born on April 2, 1947, in Alex, Oklahoma, to Sam and Mary Elizabeth Gamble.
He was a member of the Baptist Church in Altus, Oklahoma. James was raised where he learned the values of hard work and perseverance. In 1965, at the age of 18, James enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country with honor. His military service laid the foundation for the disciplined and devoted man he would later become. After returning home, he embarked on a successful career as a Body Repair Technician, dedicating over 20 years to Terry Mills in Antlers, Oklahoma. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his brother, Eugene Crouch.
James is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Gamble of the home; sons, James Gamble of Burkburnett, TX, and Cody Gamble of Missouri; daughters, Tracy Pierce of Missouri, Ann Gragg of Haworth, OK, and Cindy Edmondson of Idabel, OK; brother, David Crouch of San Antonio, TX; sisters, DeAnn Crouch of Altus, OK and Regina Chester of Jolly, TX; aunt, Maggie Blackburn of Yukon, Oklahoma. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren. James also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will remember him fondly.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on December 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK with Pastor John Sellers officiating. Interment to follow at Redland Cemetery, Redland, OK.
