Rodney William Cockrell passed from this life Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the age of 70. He was born July 7, 1951 in Cortez, CO to parents, Claude and Matilda “Tilly” (Humphries) Cockrell.
Rodney’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing his guitar, music, arrowhead hunting and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a founding member of the Eagletown Volunteer Fire Department and loved talking about his time as President of the S.E. Chapter of the Road Barron Motorcycle Club and his 1940’s Flat Head Harley. He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Tilly Cockrell; siblings, Roy Cockrell, Roberta Maestas, Bob Cockrell and Ray Cockrell; sons, Tommy Cockrell and Robert Buck; grandson, Dalton Levi Janes.
Rodney leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of fifty years, Sherry Dee Cockrell; his children, Robbie Barnes of Eagletown, Dawn Taylor of Sarasota, FL, Brandy Brown of Idabel, Heather and husband, Larry Beam of Broken Bow, Johnny Cockrell of DeQueen and Brian Buck of Eagletown; grandchildren, Savanna, Chelena, Cheyenne, Samantha, Kaleb, Rebecca, Matthew, Sierra, Beau, Rachel, Joe, Willow, Clint, Emily, Jacie and Blaze; seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Jeter officiating. Interment to follow at Eagletown Cemetery, Eagletown, OK.
