Ronnie Thurmon Sharrock 69, of Broken Bow passed from this life on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Ronnie was born on October 12, 1950 in Paris, TX the son of Thurmon and Pearl Sharrock. He graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1968, where he played football and was in band at the same time. He was also Captain of the “Chicken Chasers.” Ronnie later went to Southeastern College where he rode bulls. Ronnie served in the National Guard and was a Journey Lineman for PSO, retiring early due to health reasons.
Ronnie love trapping and hunting and always did the best of anything he started. He was an awesome horse trainer. He also trained and raised quail dogs for others.
Ronnie married the love of his life Kathy Strickland on September 4, 1970. He loved his family and was a member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Thurmon Sharrock; brother, Cleo Sharrock; and mother-in-law, Eva Strickland.
Ronnie leaves to forever cherish his memory his wife of 49 years, Kathy; mother, Pearl Emery Sharrock of Broken Bow; children, Becky Cassidy and husband, Sean of Gunter, TX, David Sharrock and wife, Regina of Broken Bow; brothers, Donald Sharrock and wife Beverly of Broken Bow, Leland Sharrock and wife, Judy of San Antonio, TX; sister, Carol Long and husband, Johnny of Haworth; grandchildren, Shelby Sharrock, Ryan Cassidy, Rylee Cassidy; father-in-law, Joe Strickland of Idabel; sister-in-law, Carlene Sharrock of Broken Bow; brother & sister-in-law Niles Strickland and wife, Luanna , of Valliant, Sharon Bain and husband, Bill of Valliant, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, OK.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Jimmy Westbrook & Bro. Chris Robertson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Watson Memorial Cemetery.
