Roy Dale Cox, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 23, 1962 in Overton, TX, the son of Thomas Wayne Cox and Annie Lee (Hudman) Cox.

Roy was the most tender-hearted person. He always wanted to make sure everyone around him was happy. Roy was one with plenty of jokes and he never met a stranger.

Roy married the love of his life, Tabatha, twenty-one years ago in Broken Bow, OK and their marriage was blessed with two daughters and a granddaughter that he loved very much and thought the world of. He worked many years in the Oilfield, after leaving the Oilfield he spent years doing trail rides, going to pig/goat shows, mowing yards, working on the farm with his little buddy, Crocket. He was known for his nickname, “Papa Poodle” around the pig shows and by all of the Broken Bow High School Ag Dept. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy W Cox and stepmother, Jessie Cox; his mother, Annie L Gore and stepdad, Charles L Gore; sisters, Dorcas and Pattie; brother, Larry; father-in-law, Glen Bryer.

Roy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Tabatha of the home; his children, Kylee Barker and husband, Brenden, Rylee Cox, and Chelsea Rowel all of Broken Bow, Misty Wilson of Dallas, TX, Christopher Wilson of Dallas, TX; very special granddaughter, Oaklynn Barker of Broken Bow; brothers, James “Jamie” Cox and wife, Kim of Kilgore, TX, Frankie D Cox; sister-in-law, Rachel Yager and husband, Matt of Mineola, TX: mother-in-law, Linda Bryer  of Broken Bow; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2023 at the The Church in Garvin, OK with Bro. Brent Coffey officiating. Interment to follow at Holly Creek Cemetery, Holly Creek, OK.
