Rudenia (Gammon) Caldwell, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91 in DeQueen, Arkansas. Born on October 27, 1933, in Battiest, Oklahoma to Elijah and Mable Gammon.
Rudenia was of the Christain faith. Her interests were as numerous as they were varied, ranging from gardening to her skilled work as a seamstress, where she wove warmth and care into every stitch. Rudenia's talents extended to crocheting, canning, cooking, and an array of crafts that she shared generously with those around her. She enjoyed music and singing, especially gospel songs. She found joy in people watching, always observing the beauty in the everyday moments of life. She was also an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for her rabbits and chickens. However, her greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her love and wisdom. Her home was a hub of warmth, where the smell of home-cooked meals and the sound of laughter were ever-present. Rudenia's loving and kind nature made her a pillar of her community, and she will be remembered for the countless lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Dale Caldwell, daughter, Deborah Lynn Caldwell, daughter-in-law, Wanda Sue Caldwell, parents, Elijah and Mable Gammon, brothers Glendall, Eddie, and Melvin Gammon, sisters Leta Mae Gammon, Lela Fay Sepulvado, Shirley Treat, and Sandra Watkins, and sisters-in-law, Faye Martin, Wanda Caldwell, and Linda Garner.
Rudenia is survived by her loving family, sons, Herman Lee Caldwell and wife Illean of Hot Springs, AR, and James Caldwell of Broken Bow, OK; daughters, Pamela Perry and husband Jimmy of Broken Bow, OK, Sheila K Dean and husband John of Durant, OK, and Melisa Greenlee and husband Charles of Broken Bow, OK; sister, Brenda Venable and husband Charles of Maud, TX; her treasured grandchildren, Jonie Smith, Abby Lynn Roberts, Christopher Caldwell, Daniellia Edwards, Johnny Caldwell, Brittney Washington, Tabitha Wade, Shalena Karr, Heather Dean, John Casey Dean, Sintra Chipps, Summer Hamm, and Kristin Greenlee; thirty-six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and friends, including longtime family friends Daniel Greenlee and Abbie Bird.
