Shannon Bethany Deihl Obituary

Shannon Bethany Deihl, just 26 years old, of Broken Bow, OK left this world far too soon on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Idabel, OK. Born on June 9, 1999, in Plano, TX to Henry Deihl and Renee James.

Our beloved Shannon, to know her was to love her. She had a sweetness about her that was matched only by her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She had a way of making people feel seen and understood, no matter who they were.

Shannon loved music with her whole heart, and she was never happier than when she was singing, whether it was along to Taylor Swift, in the car with friends, or just around the house. Music was her outlet, her joy, and something she loved to share.

Children held a very special place in her heart. She was a natural with them-- patient, playful, and full of love. Kids gravitated toward her and had dreams of being a mom one day. Though that dream was not fulfilled in the way we all hoped, she touched the lives of so many children who were lucky enough to be in her world. She had a gift with people—she could make strangers feel like old friends, and friends feel like family. Shannon was sweet and funny but also strong and compassionate, and she left a mark on everyone she met. Most of all, Shannon loved God, she was raised in the church and was baptized this spring. She loved reading her Bible for guidance and was a counselor to others. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow, OK.

Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, Shannon’s memory will live on in the laughter she brought, the songs she sang, and the love she gave so freely.

Shannon was preceded in death by grandparents, James Cook of Broken Bow, OK; Henry and Diane Deihl of Scottsdale, AZ.

She is survived by her father, Henry Clay Deihl and girlfriend Vicky Meenan of The Villages, Florida; mother Geneva Renee and husband Dennis James of Broken Bow, OK; special friend, Rose Marie Harris; grandmother, Dorothy Cook, of Broken Bow, OK; brothers, Kyte James, Isaac James and wife Alyssa of Broken Bow, OK; sisters, Julie Simon of Woodbridge, VA; Raven James and Zack Puckett of Hugo, OK; Aunt, Lisa Tyler of Broken Bow, OK, Aunt Jamie Phillips of Smithville, OK; Aunt Christy Cook and Uncle Dave Anderson of Stillwater, OK;  Aunt Penny Deihl and Uncle Ryan Nichols of Venice, CA; Aunt Patty and Uncle Paul Larson of Mesa, AZ; along with too many aunts, uncles and cousins to list.
