Obituary
Shannon Douglas Holmes passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 in Battiest, OK at the age of 51. He was born June 29, 1971 in DeQueen, Ark the son of Robert Douglas and Kathy Holmes.
Shannon loved hunting, fishing, cooking and telling jokes. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix any kind of equipment, as well as operating any kind of equipment. He lived in Omaha, TX for a number of years. He worked in the logging industry for several years.
He was a member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist church in Daingerfield, TX.
He is preceded in death by parents, Robert Douglas and Kathy Holmes; son, Tristan Douglas Holmes; grandparents, Winford and Clara Price, Robert Holmes, and Effie Shirey; nephew, Newt Davis.
Shannon is survived by his daughter, Shianne Holmes and fiancé, Rick Nunley of The Woodlands, TX; sisters, Diannia Davis and husband, Kevin of Battiest, OK; Brandy Abernathy and husband, John of Marshall, TX; brother, Brannon Holmes and wife, Lynette of Jefferson, TX; nieces, Madi Holmes, Presley Axton and husband, Lane of Broken Bow; nephews, Tripp and Jagger Abernathy of Marshall, TX; great niece, Dawson Cowan; great nephews, Evan, Jett and Rhett Axton; grandmother, Dixie Holmes; special friend Jennifer Tucker and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Pickens Assembly of God Church in Pickens,
