Shawn Rowan Obituary

Shawn Rowan, 47, of Wright City, OK passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 in Idabel, OK.  Born on May 3, 1978, Shawn's life was a testament to the virtues of hard work and the importance of family, values that he upheld every day.

Shawn’s work as a welder was not just a profession but a craft he honed with pride and skill. His dedication to his work was second only to his commitment to his family. He approached his craft with the same level of care and precision that he did his relationships—meticulously and with a full heart. Friends and family knew Shawn as a man of great kindness and compassion. He had a natural ability to make each person he met feel valued and heard, and his guidance was often sought in times of need. Shawn's ability to find joy in the simple things, from a job well done to a quiet evening at home, was a trait that endeared him to all.

Shawn was preceded in death by his loving parents, Johnny and Kathryn Rowan; his paternal grandparents, George and Georgie Rowan; maternal grandparents, F.E. and Effie Jackson; and his sister, Shawna Rowan.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Monica Rowan of the home; his children, Gregory Rowan, Addison Rowan, Kaden Garrett, Trenton Rowan, and Raynee Rowan; his brother, Brad Rowan, and sister, Jessica Williams, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Green Chapel Assembly of God Church with Pastor Lyn Gaskey officiating. Interment to follow at Slater Memorial Cemetery, Wright City, OK.
