Shirley Geller passed from this life January 17, 2021 at the age of 86. She was born the daughter of Aubrey and Clara (Watkins) Ballard on October 5, 1934 in Wright City, OK.
Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Wright City High School. She was a hard-worker and retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2000. Shirley was a member of Wright City First Assembly of God Church and she played the tambourine in church as well. Shirley loved her Lord in Christ and attended and participated in many gospel singing events. Giving glory to God was a big part of her life. She always looked for the best in everybody, and her faith in people and her God was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a great example of a good Christian lady. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was nominated Choctaw Elder. Shirley was fluent in Choctaw and spoke as well as wrote in the Choctaw language. One of the biggest events in her life was traveling with her daughter to Washington DC to accept the WWI Choctaw Code Talkers Metal of Honor on behalf of her relative, Joseph Oklahombi.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband’s, Earl Wilkerson, Leroy Montgomery, and Bill Geller; one half-brother, Charles “Bus” Ballard.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, son, Larry Wilkerson, and Pixie of Wright City, OK, daughter, Earlene Farley of Idabel; stepchildren, Clint Geller and Laura Johnson both of Valliant, OK, Bill Wilkerson and Pat of Branson, MO; grandchildren, Shawn White of Idabel, Jason White of Pensacola, FL; special great-grandchildren, Paedon Blackard, Matthew and Andrew White; numerous other great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, family members and a multitude of friends.
A viewing for Shirley will be, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at the Bunch-SIngleton Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Wright City First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Randy Watkins and Rev. Scott Stuart officiating, Interment will follow at Slater Memorial Cemetery.
Lunch will be served at 12:00 prior to the service for the family at the church.
