Shirley Ann Sutton, passed from this life on July 29, 2025, in Bixby, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Born on May 19, 1935, in Ultimate Thule, Arkansas, to Claude and Annie (Denison) Bailey.
Shirley was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life. Shirley spent many fulfilling years working at Phil Silva's Movie Theater, where her passion for stories and community thrived. Her role as a caregiver was a natural extension of her nurturing spirit, allowing her to touch many lives with her kindness and compassion. Her interests were a reflection of her loving nature; she was an exceptional cook, an avid reader, and had a talent for sewing. She thoroughly enjoyed wrapping Christmas Presents at Norris Department Store every year. A woman of faith, Shirley carried the principles of the Christian tradition in her daily life, extending love and kindness to all she met. Her heart was a wellspring of love, especially for her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and her influence on their lives is immeasurable. Friends and family will remember Shirley as loving, kind, and friendly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Annie Bailey; her devoted husband James Sutton, and her brother Gerald Bailey.
Shirley leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity. Her memory will be forever held in the hearts of her daughter and son-in-law, DeArla and Bobby Jones of Bixby, OK; her grandchildren, Chris and Kimberly Jones, Cody and Mirranda Jones; as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Zoe, Dylan, Kylee, Jaxson, Xander and Piper; her sister, Glenda Davis of Sherman, TX; her nieces, Terry Davis and Darlene "Fuzz" Davis, her nephew, Rod Davis, and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home, Broken Bow, OK with Tommy Smith officiating.
