Sidney McCain

Sidney Monroe McCain, age 80, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Sidney was born, April 5, 1937 in Broken Bow, the son of the late Bowie McCain and Alice Thomas McCain. Sidney was a lifelong resident of Broken Bow.  Sidney and Margaret Florence McCain were united in marriage on May 18, 1957, sharing 59 years together until her death on May 11, 2017. He was employed with Dierk's Forestry and Weyerhaeuser Company until retirement from an injury. Sidney enjoyed riding horses, ranching, farming and gardening.  He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.

Sidney was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Florence McCain; his parents, Bowie and Alice McCain; one son, Jeffery McCain and sister, Shirley Miller.

His memory will be forever cherished by his daughter and son in law, Jackie and Henry Suggs of Broken Bow; adopted daughter, Florence Lynn Phillips and husband Michael of Diana, Texas; grandchildren, Sidney A. McCain and wife Leah of Antlers, Oklahoma, Samantha Smith and husband Jon of Broken Bow, Billy Suggs and wife Amanda of Broken Bow, Jessie Moore of Diana, Texas, Dakota Suggs of Broken Bow and Alexis Hutto of Diana, Texas; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Patsy McGowen of Broken Bow; a host of other relatives and many special friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow with the Bro. Melvin Gibson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Broken Bow Cemetery.
