Steven Todd Butler, 57, of Idabel, Oklahoma, entered eternal rest on September 23, 2025. Born on December 16, 1967, Steven will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Felix Dale Butler; brother, Danny Ray Butler; niece, Lakeesha Butler; nephew, Dylan Butler; grandparents, Dorene “Mee-Maw” Cupit, William Cupit, “Doc” Butler, and Dora Butler; as well as his uncles Dave Butler, Freddie Butler, and Rex Cupit.

Steven is survived by his loving mother, Dena Cupit Butler; brother, Justin Butler; nephew, Jeffrey Butler; niece, Ashley Butler; great-niece, Sloan Ryan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, including Kevin and Stacy Parsons, Mike Parsons, Tim McKinny, and Erica Sims, who held a special place in his life.

Saved and baptized at the age of 13, Steven held firm to his faith throughout his life. Despite many challenges and obstacles along his journey, he achieved great accomplishments, earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was honored in the All-American Scholastic Yearbook and recognized on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

During his school years, he trained under an optometrist and gained expertise in creating specialized lenses.. 

Steven was deeply devoted to his family and friends and was known for his great sense of humor. 

Steven found joy in fishing, hunting, reading, cheering for his beloved Oklahoma Sooners football team, and listening to his favorite band, The Eagles. His strength, perseverance, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

During his final days, while surrounded by his loved ones, he thanked his momma for her love, care, and support throughout his life and told her he loved her and he was ready to go home. He left with a big smile on his face, and now he’s wrapped in the arms of his beloved father.

Memorial Services are set for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service.
