Susan O'Donnell Obituary

Susan Kay O’Donnell, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, known all her life as “Cissy”, made her peace on Earth and entered into God’s Kingdom on Thursday, July 2nd, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.

Cissy was born to the late Sam and late Jean Brewer in DeQueen, Arkansas, on October 28th, 1954. She married the love of her life, Jimmy C. O’Donnell on September the 8th, 1972. They were blessed to spend 48 wonderful years together. She and Jimmy enjoyed going dancing, attending rodeos, and OU football games in their younger years. Jimmy loved to see Cissy get all dressed up and go show her off at a rodeo or a dance. Cissy and Jimmy’s love for each other was obvious.  She was a member of the Broken Bow First Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord dearly.  She loved her swimming pool, especially when it was filled with her kids, grandkids, and family. She considered her friends to be her family and treated them as if they were.  Cissy was known to play quite a competitive game of water volleyball, which humored her family. Cissy was also very competitive at various card games and dominoes, she and her domino partner, Hayden Sullivan, won the 2011 Kiamichi Owa-Chito Domino Tournament.   She enjoyed spending time at Broken Bow Lake whether it was camping, reading a book while fishing, grilling, or taking a boat out, as long as her family surrounded her, she was happy. One of her favorite places to be was at their family deer camp at Saddle Rock Creek. In November of 1990, she wrote a beautiful poem expressing her love of Saddle Rock Creek and Jimmy cut a piece of wood to engrave it on. She was her family’s travel agent; planning vacations for her family religiously and loved to experience traveling with her kids and grandchildren. Susan was a very family-oriented person. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, community member, aunt, and friend.

She was an extraordinary businesswoman. Her occupation was a Wholesale Food Trader for Midwest Foods & Poultry of Cape Girardeau, MO. Susan worked extremely hard for all of her accomplishments and did not mind telling you she did.

Cissy is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Jean Brewer; and brother, Sammy Brewer.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy O’Donnell; children, Jimmy Keith O’Donnell and wife, Charity, and Kimberly O’Donnell; sisters, Cindy Phillips and husband, Bud, and Vicky Brewer (sister-in-law); grandchildren, Deston, Zachary, and Blake O’Donnell.
