Teresa Gaylin (Bruton) Tucker, affectionately known by all as “Terri”, passed from this life, April 5th, 2021, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
Terri was born May 14th, 1974, to James Neal Bruton and Carol Joyce (Guthery) Bruton in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
When you think about a beautiful Spring day, with birds singing and God’s creation in full bloom, you capture the beauty and spirit of Terri Tucker. Terri loved to spend time outdoors exploring nature, riding four-wheelers, running, fishing, swimming, and making her home and acreage a wonderful and welcoming place for friends and family to gather for special events and holidays. She not only loved to spend time outdoors, but she also loved to spend time grilling, cooking, and baking. You could expect her to stop by and share a plate of homemade muffins along with a smile and hug or brighten her co-worker’s day with a sample of her latest culinary creation. Terri was also a woman of deep faith in God who always tried to hold tight to His promises and reflect His love to those around her. Attending worship with her family and singing God’s praises was something that brought her great joy; her singing voice was one of her many God-given talents. She also had an incredibly loving and generous spirit. Those who know her best as Aunt T or T, can tell you countless stories of a fun-loving and devoted friend who allowed herself to be silly, take you on a fun outing, or lavish you with special and often unexpected gifts. Her boys, Jake and Josh, were her pride and joy. She went to great lengths to not only provide for them but also model an example of courage, strength, faith, and an incredibly strong work ethic. That work ethic helped her obtain a Masters Degree in Nursing Science from OU Medical School in May of 2006 and receive her certification as a Nurse Practitioner in August of the same year. She thoroughly enjoyed her work in the medical field and wanted to give her patients great care and attention. Her devotion to excellence in her career did not go unnoticed as she received the 2017 Oklahoma City Area Indian Health Service Area Director’s Peer Recognition Award. Beyond work, spending time and making memories with her family and life partner of 12 years, Wes Boyd, were the things she cherished the most. She was a person who could light up the room when she walked in with a beauty that shined from the inside out, and she will be forever cherished and missed by those who were blessed to know her here on earth.
Terri was preceded in death by her grandparents, M.L. and Helen Guthery and Fred and Margaret Bruton.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory, parents, Carol and James Bruton; children, Jake Tucker and wife, Kayla, of Texarkana, TX and Joshua Tucker, of Norman, OK; sisters, Sharbee Horne and husband, Wes, of Stillwater, OK, Whitney Pratt and husband, Kyle, of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Talon Tucker and Lyric Tucker; nieces and nephews, Daydree, Caleb, Toby, Luci, and Addie; life partner, Wes Boyd; as well as, a host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the Broken Bow Church of Christ Church, in Broken Bow, OK, burial will follow at the Denison Cemetery, in Idabel, OK.
