Terry La Donia Mays passed away on June 29, 2026, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, at the age of 85. She was born on December 22, 1940, in McKinney, Texas to parents, Harold and Endna Earle (Messengale) Hamrick.
La Donia was a member of Lukfata Baptist Church. In her younger years, La Donia was an avid softball player and enjoyed the energy and excitement of the game. She carried that same spirited nature into many other parts of her life. She enjoyed hunting with her late husband, Kenneth, and treasured the time they spent together sharing interests and making memories. Traveling was another joy in her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, she was fond of the Owa Chita Trail Rides, where she found enjoyment in the activity and the company of others. Above all else, La Donia loved her family deeply. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports. She will be remembered for her strength, her gentle heart, and the many ways she enriched the lives of others.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mays, as well as her parents, Edna Sanders and Harold Hamrick.
La Donia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Melissa Peek of Broken Bow; her daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Tracy White of Oak Hill, Oklahoma; and her beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn Peek, Falyn Peek, and Trenton White and great-grandchildren, Emma and Levi White. She also leaves behind two special friends, Melissa Scott and Micky Watkins as well as other relatives and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 PM, Thursday , July 2, 2026 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.
