Theresa Kay Taylor, age 56, of Idabel, passed from this life on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in Idabel. She was born on October 14, 1965, in De Queen to Alfred Anderson and Earnestine Burris.
Theresa joined church at an early age, and she knew God. She worked as a CNA, cashier, and assembly line worker throughout her working career. Theresa was a loving mother and grandmother who loved and cared for her family. She loved cooking and having family dinners, which was favorite pastime and enjoyed by all. Theresa had a zest for life and a very big personality. You never had to wonder about what she thought because she would tell you. She will be dearly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory her spouse, Glen Nelson; sons, DeJuan Taylor of Idabel, Denira Taylor of Dallas, TX, David Taylor of Idabel, and Teavon Taylor of Tulsa; brother, Daryle Burris (April) of Idabel; sisters, Christine Wright (Mack) of DeSoto, TX, Jackie Mays of Broken Bow, Shirley Ferrell of Morena Valley, CA, and Shelia Powell of Dallas; uncles, Ray Burris and Billy Wayne Burris of Broken Bow; aunts, Alberta Briley of Eagletown, and Joyce Gordon of Broken Bow; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father; her mother; and her brother, Johnny Ray Burris.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Bunch Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Rutherford officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Eagletown Cemetery. A wake service will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
