Tommie W Stafford Obituary

Tommie “Cowboy” Stafford of Eagletown, OK passed away on July 3, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas, at the age of 73. He was born on May 26, 1953 in Eagletown, Oklahoma to Tommie and Roszena (Warner) Stafford.

He was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found joy in the things that made others smile. He enjoyed riding horses with no saddle, writing poems or messages about God, and watching westerns. He also had a special talent for collecting hard to find items, and he took pride in the things he gathered over the years. Those who knew him best will remember that he was often the life of the party, always ready with a laugh, a story to tell, a kind word and his fashion. He had a gift for making people happy, and he used that gift generously. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed hunting and playing baseball. Tommie was married to the love of his life for 30 years, and together they shared 53 years of love, life and memories.

Tommie was a member of the Community Missionary Baptist in Tom, OK and St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Eagletown, OK where he built long-lasting relationships.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Roszena Stafford; brother, Emmitt Stafford; son, Frank Henderson; grandson, Josiah Jordan; and nephew, Keyth Stafford.

He leaves behind his wife Daisy Stafford of Tom, OK; children, LaShone Threadgill, Tony Threadgill, Sr., Melissa Threadgill (Juanita).; siblings, Christine Williamson (James), Clara Mae William, Dorothy Fellow, Johnnie Stafford, and Gloria Hunt. He is also survived by his grandchildren Keon, Quinton, DaYauna, Dorian, Lakymbria, Tony Jr., Brianna, Nariah, Anazia, Zakavian, Elijah, and Kendrick, along with fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
